Kinta 1881 music director won song writing competition

Congratulations to our beloved scriptwriter, screenplay writer and music director for winning the "live to love" song writing competition in Bhutan recently.

Eight finalists were short-listed. Judges of the song-writing competition were: His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, Their Eminences Drukpa Choegon Rinpoches, His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche, His Eminence Khamtrul Rinpoche, His Eminence Dorzong Rinpoche, His Eminence Dugu Choegyal Rinpoche, Venerable Sey Rinpoche and His Excellency Sangay Wangchug, Secretary to the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs of Bhutan.

The finalists were short-listed based on the criteria as set by His Holiness earlier. Those contestants who were unable to make it to Ladakh had their songs being played before a public of about 86,000 people, and the two contestants who performed live, Kunga (Trent Williamson) from Australia who personally performed and sang his own entry/composition, and Chow Kam Leong who played the guitar, with his song performed by Jeffrey Lim Chew Few, a member of the "Baby" pop group in Malaysia, won the Grand Prize jointly. Both Kunga and Chow will be going to Nangchen with His Holiness and his group of students and friends.
